Bike Frame Modifications & Repairs

Philosophy

We at Liberation Fab are huge proponents of making good bicycles last forever. While we’d love to sell you a fancy-pantsy custom frame, we’d love even more to see your 20-year-old commuter bike stick around for another decade.

Frame modifications are a great way to breathe life into a bike that’s starting to feel dated or stale. We can help address small quibbles like cable routing or larger tasks like adding disc brake tabs.

Whether your bike was involved in a crash, victim to rust, or just in the wrong place at the wrong time, we can help get it riding like new! There isn’t much that we can’t fix!

Capabilities

Due to metallurgical forces out of our control, we are only able to work on steel or titanium bike frames. We are happy to help evaluate aluminum and carbon fiber frames, but we’ll direct you to a specialist who is better able to work with those materials.

Rates

Our shop minimum for steel work is $50. Most basic modifications like adding water bottle or rack bosses will fall into this category.

More involved modifications or repairs like replacing dropouts, adding disc tabs, or replacing single frame tubes will be in the $100-$300 range. We aim for transparency at all stages of the process so you’ll never be surprised with a large bill.

Our shop minimum for titanium work is $200 and in-depth repair costs are in the $300-$600 range. This reflects the dramatic increase in prep work needed to modify titanium frames.
